HyperGel 30 Hydro: Energy and Sodium in a Single Gel
Within the Hyper line, HyperGel 30 Hydro is a premium hydro energy gel. It offers an ideal blend of carbohydrates and sodium. This gel provides 30g of carbohydrates and an extra boost of sodium (approximately 110mg) to enhance performance during prolonged activity.
Combination of Carbohydrates in a 1.25:1 Ratio
This hydro energy gel combines maltodextrin and fructose in a 1.25:1 (1:0.8) ratio. This balance has been shown to be effective in optimizing carbohydrate assimilation during prolonged exercise, achieving carbohydrate assimilation rates exceeding 60 g/hour (Currell, K., 2008; Earnest, C.P., 2004).
Why Use the 1.25:1 Ratio?
Recent studies indicate that a 1.25:1 ratio maximizes carbohydrate oxidation, achieving an energy efficiency of 74% (Rowlands, D.S., 2015). This allows for better utilization of consumed carbohydrates, optimizing performance.
Benefits of Maltodextrin as a Source of Glucose
Maltodextrin is ideal for efficient glucose utilization, especially in high carbohydrate intakes (>60 g/h). Unlike other glucose sources, such as cyclodextrin and isomaltulose, maltodextrin maximizes the oxidation of exogenous carbohydrates without causing intestinal discomfort.
Differences with Cyclodextrin and Isomaltulose
Cyclodextrin, although it has a favorable osmotic profile, lacks sufficient scientific evidence to demonstrate its superior energy efficiency. On the other hand, isomaltulose, a mixed source of glucose and fructose, has lower energy efficiency compared to maltodextrin (Achten, J., 2007). These factors make maltodextrin the best option for this gel.
Osmotic Advantages of Maltodextrin in Hydro Energy Gel

HyperGel 30 Hydro is a high-purity product, free of flavorings, sweeteners, colorings, and preservatives. Its neutral flavor and the touch of sweetness from fructose minimize gastrointestinal issues, ensuring comfortable digestion during exercise.
Depending on individual needs, in terms of carbohydrate intake, one gel can be taken every 20, 30 or 45 minutes.
Pro Tips:
- To easily exceed 60g/hour of carbohydrates, you can freely combine any of the products in the Hyper line: HyperDrink 90, HyperGel 45, HyperBar 45, or HyperGel 30.
*To reach these high carbohydrate intakes, we recommend training your stomach and consulting with a sports nutritionist. - To maintain optimal hydration, it is necessary to drink at least 400 to 600 ml during physical activity, either in the form of water or a sports drink such as Isodrink & Energy, which also provides mineral salts and extra carbohydrates.
- If the environment is very hot and/or humid: to maintain proper hydration in addition to the fluid intake mentioned in the previous point, an extra supply of salts is necessary, so it is recommended to take approximately 1 capsule of PRO Salt Caps every 60 minutes (1 hour) of physical activity.
